FiveSecondTracker provides a website and companion Chrome extension for organizing job applications. This policy explains what information we handle and why.
Information we handle
- Account information: your name, email address, password hash, email-verification status, and account-access status.
- Authentication information: secure session tokens used to keep you signed in. The Chrome extension stores its revocable session token in Chrome extension storage. It does not store your password.
- Tracker information: tracker names and the company names, job positions, statuses, and dates you add.
- Technical and security information: limited request, device, diagnostic, and security information needed to operate and protect the service.
- Usage information: basic website usage measurements when analytics are enabled.
How we use information
We use this information only to create and secure accounts, provide the tracker and extension features, process account access, deliver requested account emails, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Chrome extension
The extension communicates only with FiveSecondTracker to authenticate your account, load your trackers, and submit applications you enter. It does not read your browsing history or the contents of websites you visit. Information received through Chrome extension APIs is used only to provide or improve the extension’s user-facing functionality. It is not sold or used for personalized advertising.
Service providers
We may use hosting, database, email-delivery, payment-processing, and analytics providers to operate FiveSecondTracker. They receive only the information needed to perform those services. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We retain account and tracker information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, revocable sessions, access controls, and other reasonable safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may update or remove tracker information within the service, sign out to revoke the current session, or uninstall the extension to remove its locally stored data. You may request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The updated date above will show when revisions take effect.
